The Conclusion is the Beginning

Our building project is quickly coming to a completion. If everything clicks and meshes together the next three weeks everything will be complete from the ceiling to the floor to the platform to the pews…It has been a long time coming, but has turned into a blessed venture. My thanks to Donnie Lester for leading us in this renewal and his patience with me as I suggested and changed some of the plans to make it a more functional beautiful place for us to serve our Lord!
Now, if it all works as we are planning our annual Labor Day Picnic comes at a perfect time! Now, our plan is to be out of the auditorium Sunday, September 6 as the pews will be removed to make way for the ceiling to be scraped and painted in preparation for carpet and new pews. It will take two weeks, but if our timing is right we will have Sunday September 13 with carpet installed but no pews…that will have us sitting in chairs that one Sunday as the new pews are scheduled to be installed the week of September 14. It will be absolutely wonderful to see it all finished!!
I cannot believe the summer is coming to a close, but I am always glad to see the fall; just sitting here with the window open and the attic fan bringing in 62 degree air! I know it will get hot again before fall officially arrives, but: School is back in and change is in the air once again…can you sense it? I think God made the seasons to remind us that life cycles are the same as nature. I look in the mirror and see that I have entered into my own {late} fall season. I have much to do around the house while there is still time before winter, things like cleaning out the chimney {where are my boys?} finalizing my wood supply for the winter months and building a fence that has been screaming at me for months… Likewise there are many things I want to do for Christ before my time of service is over. The completion of our Worship center is one of several things I am compelled to see through before I can consider a winter’s rest.
I have evaluated my time even as God admonishes us: Psalms 90:10-12The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.’
And I pray you will evaluate your time as well, adjust your thinking and begin today to make the most of the time God has given you to serve Him…
Looking forward to Sunday!
Bro. Wayne
