A Sign that Something is Up

Our time Sunday was blessed as the Lord anointed the services. Although we didn’t see any visible results for the week or Sunday, I know God was speaking and moving in our midst. I know God is at work in and around us and that excites me; yet know this: When God is at work, the devil is prowling around: ‘Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:’ 1 Peter 5:8
Our Trustees recommended we look into a replacement for our deteriorating sign and this past Wednesday evening in our monthly business meeting we voted to purchase a new LED sign that was displayed Sunday July 19 and again Wednesday evening July 22. The spirit of the church was displayed in the agreeable spirit and general consensus of the church family as we voted unanimously to purchase the new sign.
This new sign will provide a way for us to display a new scripture every day for those who travel King Road. It is exciting to me at the prospect of all who read God’s Word and what the results will be! Remember: Isaiah 55:10&11 ‘For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.’ The sign will be programmable from a laptop computer that will not only display the time and temperature, but pictures and graphics, as well as a continual text of Scriptures! If that weren’t enough, the sign has speakers that will play music from our services! I can hardly wait to hear the bells of Christmas playing as we come to the church this late fall and winter! It will also have a permanent lighted sign that will display Rehoboth Baptist Church with our address and phone number. We should see the sign installed during the middle part of August.
This Saturday August 1 is our Men’s Breakfast. It is a time when we come together and share in a meal and message as well as just a fine time together. I hope you men and boys will come early to help in our cooking and stay a few minutes after to clean up…while in-between is the finest breakfast that can be found!
If you haven’t been, or it’s been awhile since you came, why not make plans to join us? I’m looking forward to seeing you Wednesday…..Bro. Wayne

Spring Cleaning and Revival!

Yes indeed it is spring!  Not only on the calendar but also in the air as severe thunderstorms are being forecast for the middle of the week; I am ready!  With spring time comes ideas of cleaning and repair not only around the Ponderosa but also around the church.  It is not unusual for me to wake up this time of the year thinking of things that need to be done…I’m just glad Carolyn either doesn’t think of them or just doesn’t prod me to do them…I come up with enough work to do on my own!

Which brings me to this Saturday, April 5 and our regular scheduled Men’s prayer breakfast.  This Saturday our Deacons will meet at our regular time of 7:00 a.m. then at 8:00 when we normally eat, I am asking you to come for some work around the place until 11:00 when we will eat breakfast together, Pray and then go home.

HERE IS THE WORK TO BE DONE:

Put a new metal roof on the storage shed and repair the outside.

Repair metal roof on Parsonage

Sheetrock repair and replace door

Lawn work

Clean out attic

Replace light fixtures and bulbs

Caulking inside and outside

Touch up painting

If you have any talent {or just plain willingness to help} in any of these areas, bring your tools with a willing heart and we will put you to work!

And our kitchen crew led by Bro. Gary Jones will begin cooking at around 8:30 which gives them a break from being at the church at their regular time of 6:00 a.m. Personally I think a late breakfast after a morning of work will be a very acceptable change of pace for us all!

Revival begins the next morning, Sunday April 6.  I hope you are praying with me for a great movement of God in our midst as these men of God I have scheduled to bring us a message straight from God’s throne will give you opportunity to hear God’s unsearchable truth.

What a Savior we serve!

I serve a risen Savior; He’s in the world today;

I know that He is living; Whatever men may say.

I know that He is leading; Through all the stormy blast;

The Day of His appearing; Will come at last!

He lives!  He lives! Christ Jesus lives today; He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way!  He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!  You ask me how I know He lives…..He lives within my heart!

Looking forward to seeing Him Face to Face!  Bro. Wayne
