Building for the Lord

We are waiting for the final drawings from our Architect Omar Khoury. When they arrive and our Trustees approve them, we will begin the process of applying for building permits from the City of Claremore. We should fit right in with the road construction going on right in front of us!
Have you begun to pray about what portion God would have you to give in order for us to complete our building debt free? I have been, and have already begun giving a set amount designated to the ‘Building Fund’ each week. If every family would get together, pray and then follow what God shows them, we can easily complete our building project with no debt! The difference between building debt free and borrowing the money to build is not only the amount paid in interest, but is also seeing the miracle of God’s provision!
As we begin the process of ‘laying up in store’ so we can start immediately after the drawings and permits we will see God’s blessing not only on our giving, but will see how being obedient to the leading of His Spirit will be an encouragement in our everyday life!

I Corinthians 16:2Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.’ There is an obvious blessing to giving and being obedient: ‘Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves; Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.’ II Corinthians 8:1-7
Will you join with me in this great venture of Faith and watch as God multiplies our giving to Him to accomplish His purpose for Rehoboth Baptist Church?
And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
II Corinthians 8:10-14

Summertime and building!

It’s Monday morning as I write this article. It is 7:22 a.m. It is a beautiful morning with rain coming our way again. I do believe this has to be one of the best spring/summer time I can remember {summer began yesterday} although it is pretty warm and very sticky with all the rain and humidity, I still can’t help but praise the Lord for the beautiful mornings we are having! My garden is growing {my corn is almost eight feet tall!} tomatoes are all over the vines and potatoes are growing like a jungle! The mowing is finished for a couple of weeks and one of my hens has hatched out three chicks with two to go! Life is good on the Keely Ponderosa!
We had 129 in Sunday school and although the worship crowd did not get counted it was absolutely full! Our building project needs to be underway soon. We should hear from our Architect anytime now and with the process of getting permits from the City of Claremore, it shouldn’t be long now. We are moving ahead on our finances for building debt free with money coming in every week designated for the building. Will you pray and give as God leads you in your part of the building process? Rehoboth is your church and your part will bring blessing to you and Glory to God as we, together see Him bring our church into completion of the building process.
II Corinthians 8:1-9 ‘Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.’
There is no doubt that God shows Himself mightily to whosoever believes in Him and walks by faith, trusting their own lives to Him.
Pray for us that His will might be done.

Construction, Construction, Construction!

Vacation Bible School is over for another year. All of the planning, praying and working came to fruition and was manifested Sunday evening as we watched our children singing and praising Jesus through song and crafts! What a job all of you did to bring such joy and happiness to our kids! Thank you to each and every youth and adult that gave of your time, talent and labor to make this year’s VBS a roaring success! I was blessed!
I am certain that anyone who drives by can see the construction on King Road. The temporary driveway will be in place this week and by next Sunday we will be using this alternate drive to enter our property. I am not sure how it will all work but I keep telling myself it will be temporary. Construction is supposed to be completed by September this year. I will believe it when I see it!
At the same time work on the plot plan and the architectural drawings for our own building project are progressing. The drawings should be ready to present to our building contractor and then off to the City of Claremore for their approval. Our building fund is also growing. We are presently moving toward a start of construction as we expand our auditorium for additional seating. Although many of us are giving, it is time to pray and seek the Lord for your part of this project. We will all have to sacrifice to build ‘debt free’ as we have declared we will do!
You will see the preliminary plans and a visual of where we are and where we are going in the foyer near the front door. The project is needed and is quite attainable if we will all have an open heart to accomplish this work for our God. ‘So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.’ Nehemiah 4:6 It is a matter of believing that the work is truly of God and then giving your heart and efforts to accomplish this great work. God’s blessing will be upon those of us who sacrifice financially and physically as He directs us.
I hope you will pray and give as God leads….it will then be done and God will receive the glory!
Summer is in full swing; just a few weeks of time until it will be gone. Don’t waste these precious days God has given us.

Expanding the Sanctuary

This past Wednesday during our regular business meeting we unanimously approved the motion by our Trustees to expand the auditorium by fourteen feet on each side.  This will allow us to increase our seating by approximately 150 people for a total seating of around 400.  You that have been in attendance know that we need the space!   The estimated cost of the entire project is $150.00 per square foot for 1,680 sq. ft. totaling around $255,000.  We plan to build debt free.  In order to do this we will need everyone to give above your regular tithes to the building fund.  If you want to be part of this process, please note on your check or offering envelope that portion of your gift is for the new building.

Donnie Lester has agreed to be our Contractor and MODA Architectural firm will do the professional work that the City of Claremore and State of Oklahoma requires.  Our time frame is approximately three months to begin construction.  It will take this long to prepare the architectural drawings for all the various construction phases and then to get them approved by the City of Claremore.  Also to raise the money needed to begin.

We have set, as our goal to begin construction, one – half of the expected cost or around $130,000.00.  It is an obtainable goal if we will all make it our priority!  Please pray with me and watch the Lord bring about His Will and purpose for Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Resurrection Sunday was a glorious time for us all! Bro. James and the Choir preformed ‘Jesus Messiah’ for us bringing the age old message of the Gospel in song.

Thank you choir for your hard work of preparing this gift for us, it was obvious that you enjoyed singing as much as we did hearing this wonderful presentation.

May is just around the corner and school is coming to a close.  No doubt that means for us that Vacation Bible School is at hand.  June 9-13 will be upon us before you know it, but Jeanie Ross and crew will be up to the task!  If you can help this year please call the church office or Jeanie and let us know…

The Lord is Risen; He is Risen indeed!
