1 John 2:15-17  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  (16)  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  (17)  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Camp Time 2015!

Next Sunday evening we will host another Children’s/Youth camp! So far there are twenty plus signed up with six sponsors ready to spend Sunday evening through Friday morning around the church facilities with a couple of excursions planned. Charlie Atzbach and Mary Sanders are planning, scheduling and preparing meals for the week that I know will be delicious and nutritious! Todd Isom is planning our recreation and swim times, Tony Atzbach is planning and leading our music for the week, Daniel Keely is leading our Bible Studies in the morning and preaching each evening and I have prepared Character Studies for the afternoon devotions. It should be quite a time of making a deeper commitment of our lives and sharing in times of Bible Study mixed with fun, food, fellowship and recreation. Levi Keely has volunteered to come set up our sound and electronics that we will need for the week and when he is off he will help Todd with the recreation. I do believe we have planned a great time for all who will be with us.
It is my plan and desire that this camp time won’t just be a camp for fun, but it will be a time of dedication and soul searching to prepare for the times in which we live. If your child {completed fourth grade} through youth {completed senior high} has not yet decided, I can assure you it will be a well planned and executed camp. We begin with a campers meeting Wednesday evening after service where we will hand out schedules and manifest of items needed and other items to be left at home…then Sunday afternoon July 12 at 4:30 we will meet with our ‘stuff’ and begin our camp time together!
Sunday evening and Wednesday evening we will welcome our church family into our camp schedule at the regular times where you will have opportunity to taste a little of our camp!
God has certainly blessed the work of Rehoboth! I praise His Name for what He is doing in our midst. The proclamation of God’s Word continues without hindrance and we are seeing people drawn closer to Him!
It is obvious that the Powers of this world {Ephesians 6:12} are doing everything they can to stymie the Word of God, but when we, His People, stand for righteousness sake and continue to follow Him, well, as Jesus said: The Gates of Hell can not stand! ‘And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’ Matthew 16:18
Looking forward to our Men’s Breakfast Saturday morning 8:00!

Fall Fun Food Fellowship

The work of God at Rehoboth Baptist Church continues on. I am so thankful I get to be part of it. We are entering into my favorite time of the year as we see the cool evenings and warm days turn to cold evenings and cool days! Holidays are quickly coming upon us that bring us together as family and friends. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day will be here and gone before we know it! What blessed memories fill my soul of those days gone by…
Russ Shipley is presently working on the driveway approach to the parking lot and will soon be finished; the Structural Engineer has submitted his final drawings to the architect and very soon we will have everything in place to apply for the permits to begin construction. It has been a long process, but one that will surely be worth it when we are finished!
We have set Saturday November 1 as our fall workday around the building, but this time with a twist ~ Our plan is to begin at 8:00 a.m. with several things going on all at the same time: Caleb Warren and his helpers will have a Car Clinic and will be checking your automobiles for winter preparedness and other general maintenance while others will be working on parking areas and outside building needs; while still others will be working inside cleaning, repairing and preparing the buildings for the winter months.
Sometime around 11:00 a.m. we expect others to come with children in tow to have a couple of hours of food, fun and fellowship! Connie Alessi is gathering help for the noon meal time and it is our plan to give every child a good sack of candy and all who want it, a hayride and games to play. Then at around 1:00 p.m. we will close down, finalize the cleaning process and dismiss for the day. The nice part is that this particular Saturday is Time Change Weekend. We can all set our clocks back one hour and will be done with the time change issue again!
The purpose for the special day is to prepare for the winter months and to share a few hours in fellowship around and in God’s house. I hope everyone will come for at least a while and join in!
Looking forward to the days ahead!
