Hebrews 5:5-10 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. (6) As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (7) Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; (8) Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (9) And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (10) Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:1-3 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; (2) To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (3) Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Romans 3:1-9
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just. What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

Genesis 16
Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

How about this weather?!

          This weather change has been a welcome event!  Nice cool evenings and cold mornings are wonderful after the hot summer months.  The forecast for the day is a high of 55 and a chance of rain this evening.  Yep! Fall has arrived!  I am thankful the way God has designed the seasons for us: Genesis 8:22 ‘While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.’  Seedtime is the spring of the year when the winter is over and the earth warms to receive and germinate the seeds.  During that time there are typically light rains with warm days and cool nights allowing the seeds to come to life.  Harvest is the time when the grains are ready to reap.  The rains are basically over and the temperatures and soil conditions are such that we are able to reap and store the food that has grown to maturity.  Cold is the time of reflection and preparation for the next planting season.  For those who have prepared for the cold can enjoy the season of refreshing! Summer is a time of relaxing and the pursuit of life’s pleasures, so we take vacations and take day trips enjoying the fruits of our life.  Winter…well what can be said: It is a time of sitting around the fire hearing and being heard: Jeremiah speaks of a winter scene for us:  And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.’ Jeremiah 36:23  I look forward to sitting around the fire with my Bible in hand and enjoying the warmth of the fire on a cold day.

          Oh, yeah, Day and Night: Wow!  Did God know what He was doing?  Considering that He never slumbers or sleeps, {Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:4} God knowing what is good for us gave us sweet slumber and sleep!  I don’t need scientific studies to tell me how important the night is!  After a full day of work and play, when the evening comes, God gives us sweet sleep: {It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:2}

Yes, God knew what He was doing, but: ‘Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.’ Ecclesiastes 7:29

Now, if you are reading this and live in an area where the seasons are not well pronounced, you may not be living in God’s Country: You see Jerusalem is His own place and we are on the same plain as Jerusalem: called 30 parallel north.  Giving us the same basic weather as ‘God’s Country’.

          Well, now you know!
