Mark 7:1-13  Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.  (2)  And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.  (3)  For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.  (4)  And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.  (5)  Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?  (6)  He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.  (7)  Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.  (8)  For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.  (9)  And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.  (10)  For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:  (11)  But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.  (12)  And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;  (13)  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Hebrews 2:1-3:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. (2) For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; (3) How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; (4) God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? (5) For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. (6) But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? (7) Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: (8) Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. (9) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. (10) For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. (11) For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, (12) Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. (13) And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. (14) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; (15) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (16) For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. (17) Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. (18) For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. (3:1) Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

We’ll Work Till Jesus Comes….We’ll Work Till Jesus Comes!

The work of the church continues to move on! From the worship and praise to our God {Sunday morning included a heavenly Harp with two angelic voices added} to take us into worship of our Lord! To the study of God’s Word in our Bible study time {we still call it Sunday school, not ‘small groups’} to the proclamation of God’s Word through the preaching services, yes, plural, as we actually have two complete services each Sunday! To an amazing film presentations defending the Biblical stand on Creation: {Kent Hovind} for our adults and youth while the children are learning ‘Hymnology’.
We are involved in a continual movement to bring Glory to God every day as the church facilities are open for use almost every day and are available to the Church family anytime it is needed.
What a joy to be involved with a people whose purpose is to fellowship together in worship to God and to proclaim His message of Salvation to our community here and to the world as we sponsor world missions as well as local mission endeavors with our tithes and offerings.
For you who are reading these words and have set yourself on the shelf of non use, I call upon you to become involved again! There are a multitude of things you can do to help. You can work with children in the nursery, be involved with older children and youth, become part of a Bible Study class where you can learn God’s Word and be a participant where your questions and ideas can create a better learning atmosphere in our Sunday school classes.
If you have a voice to sing, there is the choir you can express to your heart’s desire your personal praise or if you play musical instruments there is a place for you to pick up your instrument and share God’s gift with us!!
Your talent level really doesn’t matter as there are so many things you can do to serve the Lord…again from cleaning the widows in classrooms to selecting a classroom to paint, replace carpet, or just a thorough cleaning!
The Church Library is in need of a makeover with removal of non biblical books and old VCR tapes…Kitchen?! Did I mention the kitchen? Yep remodel, cleaning, restructure? What more can I say? If any of these touch your nerve of service, call the church office 918-342-6997 and tell Cindy what you would like to do and we will do our best to ‘plug you in’ so you too can be part of what God is doing at 2450 King Rd. and around the world.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.’
Hebrews 6:10

It is a joy to serve the Living God!

Camp Time 2015!

Next Sunday evening we will host another Children’s/Youth camp! So far there are twenty plus signed up with six sponsors ready to spend Sunday evening through Friday morning around the church facilities with a couple of excursions planned. Charlie Atzbach and Mary Sanders are planning, scheduling and preparing meals for the week that I know will be delicious and nutritious! Todd Isom is planning our recreation and swim times, Tony Atzbach is planning and leading our music for the week, Daniel Keely is leading our Bible Studies in the morning and preaching each evening and I have prepared Character Studies for the afternoon devotions. It should be quite a time of making a deeper commitment of our lives and sharing in times of Bible Study mixed with fun, food, fellowship and recreation. Levi Keely has volunteered to come set up our sound and electronics that we will need for the week and when he is off he will help Todd with the recreation. I do believe we have planned a great time for all who will be with us.
It is my plan and desire that this camp time won’t just be a camp for fun, but it will be a time of dedication and soul searching to prepare for the times in which we live. If your child {completed fourth grade} through youth {completed senior high} has not yet decided, I can assure you it will be a well planned and executed camp. We begin with a campers meeting Wednesday evening after service where we will hand out schedules and manifest of items needed and other items to be left at home…then Sunday afternoon July 12 at 4:30 we will meet with our ‘stuff’ and begin our camp time together!
Sunday evening and Wednesday evening we will welcome our church family into our camp schedule at the regular times where you will have opportunity to taste a little of our camp!
God has certainly blessed the work of Rehoboth! I praise His Name for what He is doing in our midst. The proclamation of God’s Word continues without hindrance and we are seeing people drawn closer to Him!
It is obvious that the Powers of this world {Ephesians 6:12} are doing everything they can to stymie the Word of God, but when we, His People, stand for righteousness sake and continue to follow Him, well, as Jesus said: The Gates of Hell can not stand! ‘And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’ Matthew 16:18
Looking forward to our Men’s Breakfast Saturday morning 8:00!

What a fine day of celebration we shared together!  We had 159 crowded around the tables in the fellowship hall for the Sunday school hour where we sat by classes and shared our hearts with one another and heard others share with us.  After special testimonies of God’s Grace and blessing over the years along with wonderful music and special words of encouragement we took a short break and began again with almost two hours more of reading of our history and the testimonies of those who lived in the days of the life of Rehoboth.  What a joy to hear of all the times that would not have been had God in His sovereignty had not interceded for us!  God is so good!

We shared a wonderful meal together with more desserts than I think I have ever seen in one place!  And then we just sat and shared with one another until 2:00 p.m.  I walked in to the fellowship hall and announced that whoever wanted to participate in an afternoon service to come on in.  With around 35 present we sang ‘Victory in Jesus’ and I preached on the verse: ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ Hebrews 11:1.  I took the story of Rehoboth found in Genesis 26 and shared the way we came to be and the way God led us in the beginning with my hopes for the future.  What a wonderful way to end the day together.

It was at 12:30 that Daniel received the call from the Cornerstone Baptist church in Chateau telling him that he has been called to be their Pastor.  What a wonderful, wonderful way to close our celebration together as we sent out one of our own to proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ!  Way to go Daniel!  May God go with you, Nora and the children.  Our loss is their gain and I know you will do well!

What a joy to serve our Lord!
