Ephesians 4:1-16  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,  (2)  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;  (3)  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  (4)  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  (5)  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,  (6)  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  (7)  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.  (8)  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  (9)  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?  (10)  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)  (11)  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  (12)  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  (13)  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:  (14)  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;  (15)  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:  (16)  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Exodus 27:20-21  And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.  (21)  In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

Fall and the Future

Today marks the first day of fall that is to arrive this evening around 9:30 and it felt like it this morning! I know the cold weather is coming; this is God’s way of reminding us that the seasons pass and we are on to another aspect of His glorious creation. I am glad I am alive to see it! Wasn’t Sunday’s services special?! I truly enjoyed the time with the Bowman’s as they shared their ministry and calling with us. It seems that you too enjoyed it as the evening attendance was amazing! Over 120 of us were here to hear Roger and Karen share their lives and ministry in Saltillio, Mexico. We gave them a love offering of over $900.00 which was a tribute of your love for God’s people and missions. Thank you for supporting our mission efforts!! A special thank you to Alan and Janice Kirkley for having them in their home and feeding them lunch; the Bowman’s said it was great {I knew it would be} and the Kirkley’s were able to share time with them. Thanks Kirkley’s!

This next Sunday I will be in Springer, Oklahoma preaching for John Wylie at Springer Baptist Church and then Monday September 29 I will preach in their Pastor’s Conference in Ardmore. I am looking forward to time with John and preaching to the Preachers! I have asked Bro. Chester Webster to fill the pulpit Sunday morning and Daniel Keely Sunday evening. I know they will bring a message from God.

Also our son Benjamin and his wife Christina will be here this weekend to stay with us a couple of weeks of vacation from Hawaii as they come to start the adoption process of little Grace, our twenty – third grandchild! I can hardly wait to see them and her! Grammy is pretty excited too!

No doubt God is at work in and through us here. Don’t become weary in well doing….in due time we will reap; if we faint not! Galatians 6:9 Our building plans are continuing as we are waiting on soil samples for our foundation and the finalizing of the structural engineer’s plans. Russ Shipley should begin work on the driveway this week…please pray about your part in the financing of this great project for God.

‘Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.’ Hebrews 13:20&21
