Saturday Workday and Fall Fellowship

This coming Saturday at 8:00 a.m. is our annual workday around the church buildings; included this year is our Car Clinic where our men will check your tires, fluids and general maintenance issues before the winter arrives. There are all sorts of little things around our Church Home {and some major ones as well} that need our attention; maybe you could see something here you can do and bring the appropriate tools to fix it:
Several toilets are leaking water; The parking lot needs to be ‘dressed up’; Some general yard work; Replacing about nine inside doors and trim; General painting touchup around the buildings inside and out; Cleaning out the attic and eliminating years of storage of items no longer needed; Classroom windows washed; Fan lights dusted and on and on. I hope you will come this Saturday and involve yourself in the work and then around 11:00 we will celebrate the season with all kinds of food, fun and fellowship. There will be a sort of contest for pumpkin food and desserts and of course bags of candy for the children as well as hayrides around the place. Then somewhere around 1:00 p.m. we will do a final cleanup and go home….after we ‘FALL BACK’ for time change Sunday. It should be a great time for everyone. I hope you will come; if for nothing else than to have a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea and visit while others are at work. It is designed for fellowship work and fun: Come join in~
It is a delight to share our lives with one another when there is no crisis or catastrophe in the air. And though the days ahead seem full of trouble, no one knows the future but God…..and He is in control. Our Lord Jesus Christ put it best: ‘Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.’ Matthew 6:31-34
And that is the bottom line

Fall Fun Food Fellowship

The work of God at Rehoboth Baptist Church continues on. I am so thankful I get to be part of it. We are entering into my favorite time of the year as we see the cool evenings and warm days turn to cold evenings and cool days! Holidays are quickly coming upon us that bring us together as family and friends. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day will be here and gone before we know it! What blessed memories fill my soul of those days gone by…
Russ Shipley is presently working on the driveway approach to the parking lot and will soon be finished; the Structural Engineer has submitted his final drawings to the architect and very soon we will have everything in place to apply for the permits to begin construction. It has been a long process, but one that will surely be worth it when we are finished!
We have set Saturday November 1 as our fall workday around the building, but this time with a twist ~ Our plan is to begin at 8:00 a.m. with several things going on all at the same time: Caleb Warren and his helpers will have a Car Clinic and will be checking your automobiles for winter preparedness and other general maintenance while others will be working on parking areas and outside building needs; while still others will be working inside cleaning, repairing and preparing the buildings for the winter months.
Sometime around 11:00 a.m. we expect others to come with children in tow to have a couple of hours of food, fun and fellowship! Connie Alessi is gathering help for the noon meal time and it is our plan to give every child a good sack of candy and all who want it, a hayride and games to play. Then at around 1:00 p.m. we will close down, finalize the cleaning process and dismiss for the day. The nice part is that this particular Saturday is Time Change Weekend. We can all set our clocks back one hour and will be done with the time change issue again!
The purpose for the special day is to prepare for the winter months and to share a few hours in fellowship around and in God’s house. I hope everyone will come for at least a while and join in!
Looking forward to the days ahead!
